Questions for Dan’s Bisexual “Friends”

Recently Dan Savage has said things that I thought opened his friends open to questions, so I sent him the following letter.

In a recent column you said that any reporters talking to Elizabeth Santorum should “demand for the names and phone numbers of these gay friends”  because you do not believe that anyone could support her father or even be friends with her because of his stance on marriage equality.
I’m not taking issue with that position, anyone claiming they aren’t homophobic because they have gay friends should be forced to name said friends.  With that in mind, you have several times countered accusations of biphobia with talk about having bisexual friends.  So I think we are completely within our rights to ask about these “friends” of yours.  Given that I’m not in any way an official reporter, I don’t feel I can demand that you hand out names and phone numbers, but I can ask that you ask these bisexuals you know some questions.
1. How can you be friends with someone who has said on multiple occasions that he assumes that most bis will turn gay?
2. Have you ever challenged Dan on that?
3. Do you agree with Dan that when encountering biphobia among potential dating partners in that gay community, we shouldn’t fight it, we should just date other bis?
4. Have you ever pointed out to Dan that most bis end up in opposite sex relationships because we meet more straight than gay people, and the reason we drift away is because we don’t feel welcome anymore?
5. How do you react when Dan calls being bisexual “a choice” but being gay isn’t?
6 Is there anything else you’d like bisexuals to know about Dan that we aren’t getting?
